The British Academy of Fencing (BAF) is the acknowledged coaching organisation for the sport of fencing in the United Kingdom. The Academy has its roots steeped in history. Leon Paul Fencing equipment Leon Paul has always been a company run by competitive fencers. Members of the family have competed in 20 Olympic Games and 30 World Championships and have won 25 national titles. The Paul family has been a part of British fencing for almost a century. It began in 1905 with the arrival of a 24 year old French officer from Perpignan. Leon first visited England as part of his grand tour of Europe after leaving the French army with a fencing diploma. Twenty years later, he founded Leon Paul Equipment with his wife Anna. 'Nanna' Paul looked after the clothing side, while Leon, or 'Papa' Paul as he was known, would come home after a long day's teaching and work into the night assembling weapons and masks. Later their sons, Rene and Raymond, would enter the business and continue its expansion. Today, a fourth generation company, Leon Paul are still run by fencers, for fencers and are at the cutting edge of fencing technology. |

Duellist Fencing equipment The Duellist story began on the 25th of July 1988 in Chiswick, London. The company was founded by Bruce Dickinson, multi-millionaire and lead singer of the rock group "Iron Maiden". Bruce was a competitive International fencer who travelled round the globe. Bruce started the company with the intention to provide the UK fencing population with products as good as that available on the continent but at an affordable cost. Enthusiastic reports about the quality of the equipment soon spread to far corners of the earth. Duellist's reputation for quality and excellence established them as one of the fastest growing companies in the market. The frequent launch of exciting and unpredictable products has helped them gain a world-class reputation. |

PBT Fencing equipment PBT was established in 1991 as a family company. The Fencing World Championships were organized in Hungary in this year; several foreign fencing companies were selling their equipment at that competition but none were Hungarian. At this time, there was no firm in Hungary that sold fencing equipment. The founder and technical director of the company, Mr. Imre Kovacs, was a member of the Hungarian National Junior and Senior foil fencing team. When he finished his sport career he started to work as a member of the presidency of Hungarian Fencing Association. PBT has been the official supplier of the Hungarian Fencing Federation since the Sydney Olympic Games. All of their products which have specifications by different organizations are manufactured according to CE (Certificate Europe) and FIE requirements. It means that all equipment is strictly tested by internationally accredited laboratories. |

Allstar Fencing Equipment Founded in 1964 by Hanne Messemer and her son Roland, allstar rapidly became one of the leading producers of fencing equipment. By 1965, German and international fencers were equipped by them at the World Championships. In 1968 they were the official supplier of the German team for the Olympic Games, as well as for countless other teams, among them the leading fencers from the USSR, France and Italy. It was as early as 1978 when 23 out of 24 finalists at the World Championships in Hamburg placed their trust in their equipment, making allstar the undisputed number one fencing equipment supplier worldwide.
